Who We Are

We are a group of concerned residents and visitors to these beautiful shorelines in Carr Inlet in South Puget Sound. We are dedicated to the health, safety, and beauty of our area beaches and tidelands. We are trying to protect our environment against commercial interest's invasion of our neighborhoods, with unstudied practices that may harm the environment. They stand to make a profit at your and our loss.

We came together when a geoduck company applied for a permit on our shores. A private landowner signed a lease with this company to install over a quarter of a million PVC pipes in the sands. The pristine pictures on this website, are of our current beach in the beautiful Henderson Bay. The unnatural beach pictures are of existing geoduck farms in South Puget Sound in Totten Inlet and Pickering Passage near Olympia.

VICTORY!

We were successful in preventing this "pipe and net farm" from invading our beach. When the geoduck company saw we were organized and prepared for a long legal fight, they backed out. Unfortunately, they plan to move onto another shoreline and it could be in another inappropriate area. It could be you next. If it is, we are here to help. We have learned much that you may be able to use to protect your recreational beach as we have ours.

We are not against this industry prospering, but would like to see a safe, non-polluting, and scientifically sound industry zoned in appropriate locations.
